Northern Indiana Public Service Company (“NIPSCO”) is issuing this Request for Proposals ( “RFP”) for the purposes of identifying and negotiating contracts for Base, Intermediate, and/or Peaking resources for a delivery period commencing as soon as possible and no later than 2016. In addition, NIPSCO is issuing another RFP for the purposes of identifying and negotiating contracts for renewable energy and/or Demand Side Management (“DSM”) resources for a delivery period commencing as soon as January 1, 2011.

The goal of these RFPs is to provide NIPSCO with a combination of supply-side and renewable/DSM resources to meet NIPSCO’s long term projected needs with a reliable, low cost, stable priced and diversified resource portfolio. NIPSCO projects a need by 2016 of up to 300 megawatts (“MW”) of incremental long-term resources and a need of up to 300 gigawatt hours (“GWH”) per year of incremental long-term renewable resources.

NIPSCO’s objective for this RFP is to encourage and solicit proposals from various providers of base, intermediate, peaking, renewable, and DSM resources and to secure those resources that best meet the NIPSCO’s objectives.
